● Possess experience in donor cultivation, organizational planning, program development, fiscal management, event planning, marketing, and technology.
● Have established connections within the Oakland Unified School District, or the nonprofit or private sectors.
Your Role on the Board
As a board member, your responsibilities will include:
● Governing OEZSA in accordance with by-laws and board policies.
● Upholding and periodically updating our mission statement.
● Guiding and supporting the organization at large.
● Overseeing the hiring processes, including the appointment and performance reviews of the Principal/Executive Director.
● Maintaining a pivotal relationship with the Oakland Unified School District.
● Managing resources responsibly, approving budgets, and ensuring financial accountability.
● Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of our programs and services.
● Enhancing OEZSA's public image and promoting the academy through community
networking.
● Seeking and fostering new board members and nurturing positive relationships within our team.
